Data Source

We tap into the Apple Health data to show the most relevant data points that matter to your wellbeing. We recommend our users to wear Apple Watch or another smartwatch and connect it to Apple Health. The longer you wear your watch through the day, the deeper insights

Based on our research and customer feedback we split the numerous apple health parameters into 3:

Mind

Resting Heart Rate

tells about emotions and general health

When physical health is a constant, Resting Heart rate tells us about stress levels. It is a good metric of your overall physical and mental health, According to Harvard Medical School “While a heart rate is considered normal if the rate is between 60 and 100 beats per minute, most healthy relaxed adults have a resting heart rate below 90 beats per minute.”

Minimum Heart Rate

your heart rate when most rested

Reported once per day for the previous day, this metric tells you how relaxed your heart and mind were when you were most rested. For most adults this would happen during sleep when our mind and body are in recovery mode.

Deep Sleep

time in deep sleep

For this data to be available, the user has to wear their watch to bed. Apple Health breaks down your sleep into 4 stages – Awake, REM (Rapid Eye Movement), Core, and Deep Sleep.

According to the Medical News Today journal “Although all the stages of sleep are necessary, deep sleep is especially important for brain health and function”

This stage of sleep helps the brain rest and recover, allowing it to replenish energy. It also plays a role in the reinforcement of declarative memory, or remembering facts.”

Heart

Latest Heart Rate

We report the latest heart rate reading your smartwatch/ wearable has reported to Apple Health. Our heart rate can be influenced by exercise intensity, emotions, weather, coffee or medicine consumption among far more.

Latest Heart Rate by itself does not tell us much, but if we keep track of our heart rate say after an intense meeting it helps understand our mind and heart better.

Max Heart Rate

highest heart rate in the day

Ideally this should be recorded during the highest intensity of workout or any physical activity. In some cases our hearts can beat much faster due to our emotions, especially stress, anxiety and anger.

The American Heart Association shares maximum heart rate by age.

Heart Rate Variability

indicator of stress, higher the better

Heart Rate Variability or HRV is the measure of variation in time between each heartbeat. According to the Harvard Medical School “This variation is controlled by a primitive part of the nervous system called the autonomic nervous system (ANS). It works behind the scenes, automatically regulating our heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, and digestion among other key tasks.”

Body

Active Energy

energy burned when active

Reported as kilojoules or kilocalories burned in the day, this is the energy that the user has burned due to physical activity and exercise. A walk in the park or swim and definitely your gym counts towards it. It is a good indicator of how active your lifestyle is.

Resting Energy

energy burned while resting

Resting energy or Basal energy is the energy that the user’s body burns to maintain its normal, resting state. The body uses this energy to perform basic functions like breathing, circulating blood, and managing the growth and maintenance of cells.

Exercise Minutes

minutes of active workout

Apple Health records exercise time as every full minute of movement that equals or exceeds the intensity of a brisk walk. Similar to active energy, exercise minutes is a good indicator of how active your lifestyle is.
